Providence Invests ARPA Funds 💰

Providence has fully used its $166 million in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) money to help people and neighborhoods. The city spent the funds to improve housing, repair roads and sewers, and update recreation centers, so families have safe and modern places to gather. Mayor Brett Smiley also focused on programs for youth, including job training and mentoring, as well as social equity efforts like scholarships for first-generation college students. These projects will make Providence stronger, more welcoming, and better prepared for the future.

Stay Warm, Providence! ❄️

Source: Giphy
On Monday and Tuesday, the City of Providence partnered with community organizations to open an overnight warming center at the DaVinci Center (470 Charles Street). The center provided shelter from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, and other locations also offered overnight accommodations for those in need.
With the cold weather continuing, city leaders remind everyone to stay indoors if possible, wear layers, and keep an eye on neighbors and pets. If you missed the warming center information or need more resources, visit this page for details on city shelters and safety tips. You can also sign up for CodeRED emergency alerts and check local social media for updates on weather conditions. If there is an emergency, call 911, or dial PVD311 during business hours for non-emergency matters. Stay safe and warm!
