Providence Culinary Collective 🍷🍴

It was our friend’s birthday, and we celebrated with a few bottles of wine from Longshadow Ranch in Temecula, CA.

Tickets are now available for the first-ever Providence Culinary Collective, happening March 27-30, 2025. This exciting event will highlight the city's culinary scene with tastings, dinners, and immersive experiences, running alongside the Rhode Island Wine Experience (Wine X). Attendees can look forward to rooftop gatherings, chef dinners, and wine tastings at historic venues. The weekend will also feature the Lil Rhody Laugh Riot comedy festival with big names like Kevin Hart and Aziz Ansari. For the full schedule of events, view it here.

New Waterfront Homes in East Providence 🌊

The former Ocean State Steel site in East Providence is being transformed into a waterfront housing community. Mayor Bob DaSilva and developer Richard Baccari II celebrated the first home sale in the area, which has been abandoned for over 20 years. The project, launched in 2022, will feature nearly 400 single- and multi-family homes, including some age-restricted affordable units. The development is expected to take three years to complete, bringing a thriving new community to the waterfront.

What’s Next for Kennedy Plaza? 🚌

Source: ecoRI News

Kennedy Plaza, a major transportation hub in Providence, could soon lose its role as the state’s bus station as officials search for a new location, possibly near the train station. Before it became a transportation center, the area was a cove, and over the years, it evolved from a maritime hub to a railway and trolley station. Now, with the growing need for a better multimodal transit center, moving the bus hub to the train station seems like the best option. If the bus hub moves, Kennedy Plaza's future is uncertain, but it may become a space to celebrate the city’s history and invite more people to the area.
