2024 Rhode Island Election Results: Preliminary Winners 🗳️

As of writing, Kamala Harris leads the presidential race in RI with 55.2% of the vote. Sheldon Whitehouse won re-election as Senator with 59.5%, while Gabriel Amo captured the District 1 House seat with 62.5%, and Seth Magaziner won in District 2 with 58.0%.

Voters also weighed in on several ballot questions. They rejected a Constitutional Convention with 62.6% voting "No." However, they approved the following funding measures:

  • Higher Education Facilities Bond ($160.5 Million): 59.6% approval

  • Housing and Community Opportunity Bond ($120 Million): 65.5% approval

  • Green Economy Bonds ($53 Million): 67.2% approval

  • Cultural Arts and Economy Grant Program ($10,000): 56.1% approval

These results remain preliminary and are pending certification by the Board of Elections.

Providence Music Venue to Close on December 1 🎶

After seven years in the Jewelry District, the beloved Providence music venue Askew has announced it will close on December 1. In a heartfelt message, Askew thanked the local community, staff, and artists for their support over the years and shared that the "Askew Crew" will continue hosting events at their sister venue, Alchemy. Fans are encouraged to join in the final month of celebrations at Askew, with more artistic ventures promised for the future at Alchemy.
