Where I Tried: New Harvest Coffee Roasters (10 Sims Ave, Providence, RI 02909)

What I ordered: Iced mocha with almond milk + glazed donut

What it cost: $10.00

Surprisingly, going here was my first time going to the Farm Fresh building. It’s really cool. I recommend checking it out, which you can do this weekend if you visit the Providence Flea. If I’m not mistaken, their donuts come from Knead. The donut was great and it was filling enough that you could share it with someone but you don’t have to. I also enjoyed the mocha, which I’ve gone back for a few times. They have a lot of outdoor seating, and for $10 I think this is a great spot you should try out.

Lifespan Now Brown Health 🏥 

Lifespan Corp. has officially rebranded as Brown University Health, reflecting its expanded affiliation with Brown University. The change aims to enhance the health system's academic alignment and commitment to providing high-quality healthcare to a broader patient base. The rebranding involved updating nearly 200 systems, launching a new website, and creating over 3,200 versions of 100 new logos. This initiative follows recent agreements with Brown University that included financial investments and updates to governance and academic affiliation.

$95M Federal Boost for Washington Bridge 🚧

U.S. Senators Jack Reed and Sheldon Whitehouse, Representatives Seth Magaziner and Gabe Amo, and Governor Dan McKee announced a $95.5 million INFRA grant to help replace the westbound Washington Bridge, bringing total federal funding for the project to $220.98 million. The bridge, which connects East Providence to Providence and serves 90,000 vehicles daily, was closed due to structural issues. Demolition has begun, with total replacement costs estimated at $426.5 million. This funding marks a significant increase in infrastructure support for Rhode Island.

Providence’s Most Unique Home? 🏡 

I’m always interested in homes in Providence with in-ground pools - it just seems so baller. That’s how this house originally caught my eye; it has a backyard with a pool, sauna, TV, firepit, shower, and pool table. Once you start looking through the pictures though, you realize that it isn’t set up like an ordinary house. The description on Zillow says it’s a high-performing Airbnb, which explains why I counted 14 beds in a 3-bedroom house. This home is very expensive but very cool and would be amazing to live in and host people at. To look at all the pictures of this unique house click here.
