🇮🇹 Experience Florence… In Providence?
Sott'Acqua is a week-long series of programs and events celebrating the 25-year friendship between Providence, and Florence, Italy. Despite their cultural differences, both cities share a history of devastating floods that left them underwater in the past century. The events will focus on the impact of these natural disasters, the importance of preserving cultural treasures, and the growing need for climate change action. The series will also feature the signing of a new Friendship Pact, reflecting both cities' commitment to sustainability, environmental protection, and climate crisis mitigation efforts. Sott’Acqua will occur in Providence, begin November 9th, and run through the 17th. To view the programs and events click here.

Atlantic Mills Deal in the Works 💼
On Friday, Providence Business News reported on a new potential deal for Atlantic Mills. One of the buyers Eric Edelman told PBN that he and a few other buyers with ties to Rhode Island had entered a purchasing agreement at the end of August. The expected close date is within the next few months after some more things are resolved. A few months ago, we mentioned how the Providence Redevelopment Agency was trying to purchase the mills, but the deal with the owners fell through. To read in-depth about the deal, the history of the mills, and what the community has to say click here. Please note, this article requires a subscription to PBN.
